This contract for the season of 2004made and entered into by and between Flower Farm, hereinafter designated as stallion owner, and

The stallion Caduceus Denver, AMHA #90415, whose service fee is ________ per mare. A non-refundable booking fee of $200.00 included in the stud fee to be paid with submission of the signed contract.

The mare owner agrees:

1) All paperwork including a copy of the mareā¤s pedigree as well as the booking fee and all deposits to be provided to the stallion owner two weeks prior to planned semen shipment or upon delivery of the mare for onsite breeding

2) Fulfillment of all of the following mare requirements:

a.Documented pre-breeding exam including culture within 30 days of anticipated breeding.

b.Halter broken (onsite)

c.All shoes removed (onsite)

d.Vaccinations 4-in-1 up to date. This must be documented by mare owners of on site mares. Live foal guarantee void if pregnancy loss is caused by any disease preventable by vaccination.

e.Any potentially dangerous behavior reported such as kicking, biting, etc..(on site).

3) Stallion owner may at his/her discretion have an on site mare treated by their veterinarian for illness, injury, parasites if needed, with expenses of these services being charged to the mare owner, and paid in full prior to the mare leaving the barn.

4) The stallion owner shall not be liable for accidents, disease or death to the mare or her foal (should she be accompanied by a foal).

5) For shipped cooled semen the mare owner shall pay $125.00 for each collection as well as the cost of shipping the container round trip. Shipment will not be made without receipt of the collection fee. A refundable deposit of $300.00 for the shipping container is required prior to the first shipment. Mare owner may supply, or purchase from stallion owner a disposable container for use in the shipment.

6)For onsite breeding, mare owner will pay $10.00 per day for mare care, $2.50 per day for foal care.

7) The balance of the stud fee due with initiation of breeding, ie. Prior to 1st shipment or live breeding unless otherwise arranged.

8) Breeding season starts march 1, ends October 1 unless otherwise arranged.

9) Mare may be substituted with agreement of the stallion owner on a case by case basis and all aforementioned conditions satisfied.

10) Conditions of live foal guarantee: The birth must be attended by an experienced person and documentation of cause of death must be provided in writing by a veterinarian within 5 days. Stallion owner needs to be notified of foal demise within 12 hours.

11) Fetal ultrasounds between days 18 and 25 to confirm pregnancy and rule out twinning. Palpation or ultrasound between days 45-60.

 

The Stallion Owner Agrees:

1) Should the mare remain open or abort a documented pregnancy, that the mare can be bred a second season. She may be substituted with another mare at the discretion of the stallion owner.

2) Guarantee of a live foal, defined by as a foal that will stand and nurse within 24 hours if all mare conditions are met.

3) To provide timely delivery of cooled semen to the Fed-Ex with a minimum of 36 hours notice from time of anticipated insemination. Shipments are Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please be aware that Fed-Ex does not deliver or pick up on weekends, subsequently no semen deliveries on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. To avoid unnecessary expense, we advise that reproductive veterinarians be used and ovulation be timed to work around delivery limitations. We recommend insurance on all shipments and take no responsibility for lost or delayed shipments that are delivered to Fed-ex in a timely manner.
